What you need to know about Alison Brie's new show on Netflix

What is the plot of Glow the new TV series on Netflix?

Glow (Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling) is about an out of work actor in the 80s who has one last chance for work by joining a women’s wrestling league. Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie) is hired and has to learn the mysterious ways of wrestling from Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron), a failed B-movie director who sees a women’s wrestling show as his ticket back into show business.

Up against Wilder is Debbie Eagan (Betty Gilpin) a former soap star who left show business to have a baby only to return when her perfect life goes wrong. She’s the star of the wrestling show, who just happens to hate Wilder.

The show’s executive producers have previously worked on Homeland, Nurse Jackie, Orange Is the New Black and Weeds. Glow is based on a short-lived show in the 80s which had a cult following but only lasted for four seasons.
