2017 is already in full-swing.

Pretty much every movie and TV show your friends have been talking about won awards at the Golden Globes this weekend, but the star of Blackfish (you know, the documentary that made everyone hate SeaWorld for a few weeks) didn't get to see it. Meanwhile, there's drama in Coachella, and we're still three months from the festival actually happening. Here's what you missed over the weekend.

74th Annual Golden Globes

The 2017 Golden Globe Awards were all about the glitz, glam and new faces on both the big and little screens. On Sunday evening, celebrities hit the red carpet at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton Hotel, dressed to impress and ready to win big. Last year we saw the return of Ricky Gervais, who left the crowd in stitches with his punchlines and wisecracks. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler did their unforgettable and hysterical drunken bit two years prior. For this year’s accolades, late night funnyman Jimmy Fallon was put in charge of hosting duties. A seemingly timid Fallon made a few sad attempts at jokes, but almost all of them fell flat. The shoes he was left to fill were a bit too large and he unfortunately failed to live up to his predecessors. The awkward banter he attempted while waiting for technicians to fix his teleprompter in the beginning didn’t help, either, even with the pan out to Justin Timberlake

The biggest winners of the night were Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling and the creators of La La Land, with an astounding seven awards. Some of the new victors include Donald Glover for Best Comedy and Best Actor in a TV Comedy for Atlanta, Tracee Ellis Ross for Best Actress in a TV Comedy for Black-ish, and Isabelle Huppert for Best Actress in a Drama for Elle. Moonlight took home the award for Best Drama, Zootopia for Best Animated Feature, and Viola Davis received recognition for Best Supporting Actress in Fences opposite Denzel Washington. Meryl Streep took home the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement in Masterful Fashion. It was a whirlwind night full of surprises and predictions. Congratulations to all of the winners!
