Pour out some lemonade and some iced tea.

Did you have too much to drink at the Catalina Wine Mixer this weekend? Were you too busy at one of the dozens of music festivals wrapping up the summer season around the country? You missed some pretty great (and terrible) news in the worlds of sports, divorces and questionable technology, but we’ve got you covered.

As always, here’s what you missed over the weekend.

Snapchat Spectacles Sizzle

Sometimes, you really have to ask yourself if technology has gone too far. Just because a company can do something doesn’t mean they should do something, and it sure looks like Snapchat is testing their limits on that one with the new Snapchat Spectacles.

What are Spectacles, you ask? They’re basically just $130 sunglasses that can record clips to upload directly to your Snapchat Memories and look kind of strange on your face while you do it. It’s a piece of hardware that nobody asked for, and an idea whose time will probably never come… but it’s here.

The announcement comes with Snapchat looking for new ways to expand their rapidly growing brand and presumably trying to cash in on the sweet spot they’ve found in which their app is now used for more than just nudes but hasn’t yet been taken over by parents and weird political aunts/uncles. After all, Google Glass did so well (Spectacles are apparently very different because they come in three colors) and people still can’t figure out what to use their Apple Watches for, but isn’t wearable technology just the coolest trend ever?

Braxit & Birdman's Courtroom Battles

In the aftermath of Brangelina’s breakup (or Braxit, depending on who you ask), it looks like the two actors knew all along how they’d be splitting their finances and properties if things ever turned sour. According to TMZ, the couple had a detailed pre-nup covering all 12 of their properties, so there shouldn’t be too much bickering there. Unfortunately, no such agreement is in place for their six children (you know, like the ones they took from other countries), and Brad Pitt wants to split them too with joint custody.

In everyone’s other favorite current breakup, Birdman is going to have to dig through his receipts in his legal battle with Lil Wayne. Aside from all of his other complaints, Wayne says Birdman owes him about $20 million from a record advance, and a judge just told the Cash Money ringleader he’ll have to explain where that extra cash money went. Although it seems like a whole lot of money to lose track of, apparently Birdman could be in extra trouble as his bookkeeping may not have been quite up to snuff. The good news for Birdman is that no matter how little money he ends up with at the end of this legal warfare, he will be “Still Fly.”

So Long, K.G.

NBA

One of the greatest basketball players of the last 25 years retired over the weekend, as Kevin Garnett called it quits once and for all. As one of the best big men in the NBA for the last 21 years, the former first-round draft pick of the Minnesota Timberwolves was known both for his tenacious style of play and his use of the English language on and off the court. The 15-time All-Star’s array of on-court accomplishments is almost too lengthy to list, but his 2008 NBA championship with the Boston Celtics and his 2004 MVP with the Timberwolves are the ones that stand above many of the others.

When he wasn’t snagging rebounds and getting buckets, Garnett was known to have some of the best trash-talking ability in the game – and the occasional fantastically motivational post-game interview. He forever changed the way the world looks at a delicious breakfast cereal in Honey Nut Cheerios while some of his opponents have resorted to pretending not to speak English whatsoever to avoid his quick tongue. Garnett joins legendary Laker Kobe Bryant and Spurs great Tim Duncan as surefire Hall of Famers to hang up their sneakers this year. So long ‘90s icons.

R.I.P. Jose Fernandez & Arnold Palmer

While it originally seemed like Kevin Garnett might be the biggest loss in the sporting world this weekend, talented athletes young and old tragically passed away just days after.

First, the bright young star of the Miami Marlins pitching rotation, Jose Fernandez, lost his life in a boating accident early Sunday morning, The Marlins cancelled their Sunday afternoon game due to the loss, and the rest of the baseball world took a moment of silence to mourn the 24-year-old’s passing. Many believe the Cuban ace would’ve continued to build on his two All-Star appearances and Rookie of the Year award from 2013, but now baseball fans will just be left considering what could’ve been.

Hours after baseball lost one of the biggest names in the future of the sport, golf lost a piece of its treasured history. Legendary golfer and drink-mixing master Arnold Palmer passed away at the age of 87 on Sunday in a Pittsburgh hospital. “The King” is one of the handful of golfers singlehandedly responsible for making golf more accessible for the general public, and he’s the only one who ever would’ve dared mix lemonade and iced tea together when each is so delicious on its own.
