In the new Netflix horror film Thriller (out April 14),

years after a childhood prank goes horribly wrong, a clique of South Central LA teens find themselves terrorized during homecoming weekend by a killer hell-bent on revenge.

“I have a passion for genre movies, especially… ’80s horror movies like Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Prom Night, Motel Hell,” said Thriller director and co-writer Dallas Jackson in a statement. “As I got older, I realized the lack of diversity in these movies both in front of and behind the camera. This led me to consider what a horror movie like Halloween would look like and feel like in an ‘urban environment.'”

Thriller stars Jessica Allain, Mykelti Williamson, Luke Tennie, Tequan Richmond, Paige Hurd, Chelsea Rendon, Mitchell Edwards, Pepi Sonuga, Jason Woods, Maestro Harrell, Michael Ocampo, and RZA, who is also an executive producer on the film.
