The star's co-headline run with husband Jay-Z continues until October

Beyoncé has revealed one of her highlights of the On The Run II tour so far.

The star embarked on a co-headline tour with her husband, Jay-Z, earlier this summer. The tour began in Cardiff on June 6 and is currently on its North American leg.

Beyoncé appears on the cover of Vogue‘s September Issue, in which she discusses her ancestry, legacy, and experience of pregnancy. She also talked about the On The Run II tour, recalling a specific night during the European leg of the run.

“One of the most memorable moments for me on the On The Run II tour was the Berlin show at Olympiastadion, the site of the 1936 Olympics,” she said. “This is a site that was used to promote the rhetoric of hate, racism, and divisiveness, and it is the place where Jesse Owens won four gold medals, destroying the myth of white supremacy.”

She continued: “Less than 90 years later, two black people performed to a packed, sold-out stadium. When Jay and I sang our final song, we saw everyone smiling, holding hands, kissing, and full of love. To see such human growth and connection – I live for those moments.”

Beyoncé and Jay-Z recently dropped a surprise joint album, titled ‘Everything Is Love’ under the moniker The Carters.

Meanwhile, Barack and Michelle Obama were spotted at their On The Run II show in Maryland last month (July 28). The former US President and First Lady were filmed dancing to ‘Watch The Throne track ‘N****s In Paris’. Michelle Obama was previously spotted at the couple’s Paris show, where she was filmed dancing with Beyoncé’s mother.

The On The Run II tour continues in North America through August and September, concluding at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field on October 4.
