Kim K, Melania, Britney and others aim to pose and provoke.

Everything a celebrity does in his/her working hours is some sort of a statement. And there’s hardly a better opportunity to make the masses talk than a session with a famously risk-taking photographer. While some of the people on our list later commented that they didn’t expect their shoots to start a fire, we seriously doubt that. Strike a pose, there's nothing to it, SHOCK!

Britney Spears by David LaChapelle

Rolling Stone

What would Tinky Winky say?! Back in 1999, Britney Spears emerged seemingly out of nowhere to change the pop landscape forever and turn the image of a well-behaved high school girl into something way sexier, baby. Rolling Stone magazine saw that as a perfect opportunity to give David LaChapelle a call and ask him to shoot Britney in her bedroom (obviously). Overtly sexual photos of the then 16 popstar caused an uproar, prompting Britney herself to claim that she was “totally tricked” into unbuttoning her sweater and giving the camera her trademark not-a-girl-not-yet-a-woman look.

“The whole thing was about me being into dolls and in my naive mind I was like, 'Here are my dolls!' she later told the press, "And now I look back and I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, what the hell?' But he did a very good job of portraying me in that way. It certainly wasn't peaches and cream."

Seventeen years later LaChapelle and Spears teamed up again for a scandal that never was. LaChapelle filmed a (reportedly) steamy video for Britney’s “Make Me…” which the singer’s camp decided to never release, opting for a tamer alternative version. Well, at least we still have the “Everytime” video from these two, which is as iconic and daring as the Rolling Stone shoot.
