It's a rollicking folk rocker from the London five-piece.

"Pick Up The Pieces" sounds happier than the relationship it's about. It all makes sense, though, when you find out it’s about the joyful moments in a couple's waning days. The singalong-friendly cut is the newest single from Curse of Lono, which singer-songwriter Felix Bechtolsheimer formed in 2015.

"'Pick Up The Pieces' is a snapshot of a relationship at the moment when too much damage has been done to keep the boat afloat but neither of you is quite ready to say it out loud. It's also one of the first songs we worked on with producer Oli Bayston (Boxed In). The song started out as a shuffling acoustic number that reminded me a bit of Cat Stevens," says Bechtolsheimer to Myspace.

"There were so many obvious things the recording was crying out for but we were brutal and did the opposite. We replaced the acoustic guitar with an electric baritone and the brushed snare with a more primal groove. It was a very satisfying experience imposing our will on the track. You don't always win these battles but I feel that it worked out ok this time."

"Pick Up The Pieces" comes off of the group's full-length debut Severed, out April 7 via Submarine Cat Records. Listen exclusively on Myspace below.
