Justin Timberlake, Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera and Eminem highlight an impressive list of releases from 2002.
Avril Lavigne – 'Let Go'
The debut album of the rebellious pop icon, Let Go let the world know being a young woman in pop was no longer just about bleach blonde hair and choreographed dance moves. “Sk8er Boi,” “Complicated,” “I’m With You” and “Losing Grip” immediately launched Avril into pop’s elite, and played an important role in changing the direction of the genre.
Eminem – 'The Eminem Show'
While the lead single off of The Eminem Show was the fun pop-rap hit “Without Me,” the album would prove to be Eminem’s most mature, thought provoking effort to date. Songs like “Sing For The Moment,” “Cleaning Out My Closet,” “White America” and “Square Dance” showcased his incredible depth as an artist.
