"...I’m writing what I want to share with the world, rather than trying to give the world what it wants."

Following the legal issues Kesha has had to deal with over the past couple of years, the pop singer is finally ready to share music that she actually wants release.

In an interview with Billboard, she revealed that her new material will "showcase my vulnerabilities as a strength and not as a weakness."

"In the past, I always felt like I was trying to prove something," she told the magazine, which named her Billboard's Women in Music Trailblazer this year. "Now, I'm writing what I want to share with the world, rather than trying to give the world what it wants. For better or worse, I’m just me."

She also revealed that she co-wrote with Wrabel, which was "so much fun," and also opened up about the support she got from Adele.

"Adele is nothing but class," she said. "She reached out to me privately and publicly in the middle of winning her own award [at the BRIT Awards]. What a beautiful soul."
