"False Prophets" includes some curious verses about heroes falling from grace.
J. Cole may have dissed Kanye West on his new song "False Prophets." The music video for the song was released last night as part of his new documentary Eyez, which tells the making of his new record 4 Your Eyez Only. And some critics think some of the lyrics for "False Prophets" are a direct jab at Mr. West.
Over the course of a couple verses, J. Cole talks about a star who "caught our hearts" but is now "falling apart."
"There was a time when this nigga was my hero maybe," raps J. Cole. "That’s why his fall from grace is hard to take, cause I believed him when he said his shit was purer and he / The type of nigga swear he real but all around is fake."
West recently cancelled his Saint Pablo tour and was hospitalized for "temporary psychosis."
Watch the music video for "False Prophets" as part of Eyez (around the 30 minute mark) via Tidal.
