Feeling a little rough after NYE? Here's some musical medicine.

You may have had the best night of your life yesterday, but now your head is pounding. While you probably should be chugging gallons of water and reaching for that aspirin, a nice soothing song could also put your mind at ease.

Think we're joking? According to a number of studies, music can help ease pain. Dr. Lynn Webster, who was former president of the American Academy of Pain and Medicine and VP of Scientific Affaris for PRA Health Sciences, told Mic, "I would think of a hangover as similar to migraines in the sense that you don't want anything too sharp, too loud... But if it can distract you, it theoretically is going to offer you some relief."

Now that we've got science on our sides, here are eight songs that could get you through the morning after.

"America" - First Aid Kit

Between the soothing guitar and gentle harmonies, Klara and Johanna Söderberg, aka First Aid Kit, will be able calm your minds after last night's rager with their acoustic tune, "America."

"Bed Peace" - Jhene Aiko

Jhene Aiko is known for her chilled out R&B songs. And her collaboration with Childish Gambino on "Bed Peace" seems like the perfect tune for the couple who are hurting in bed after the party the night before.

"Northern Wind" - City and Colour

Dallas Green, better known as City and Colour, will lull you back to sleep so you can nap that hangover away.

"Forever Young" - Rihannon Giddens and Iron & Wine

Originally written by Bob Dylan, Rhiannon Giddens and Iron & Wine's version of "Forever Young" is much smoother and will musically massage the pain away.

"Re: Stacks" - Bon Iver

Bon Iver may not have the most upbeat tunes, but Justin Vernon's falsetto works just as well as chicken noodle soup. It will not only make you feel better but soothe your soul.

"Latch" (Acoustic Version) - Sam Smith

Disclosure's "Latch" already had a calmer and jazzy feel to the tune. However, Sam Smith, who sings on the original track, strips it down and turns it into one sweet lullaby.

"Lost Stars" - Adam Levine

Adam Levine will make everything feel better with his acoustic version of "Lost Stars."

"Blank Space" - Ryan Adams

Taylor Swift showed us the crazy in "Blank Space," but Ryan Adams gives it the indie acoustic twist and turns it into a tune that's easier to swallow, especially when you're not feeling well.

"Two Weeks" - Grizzly Bear

The consistent piano rhythm at the beginning of Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks" might be a little abrasive for a hungover morning, but the band's flawless harmonies will make up for it.
