The project of Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes and Warren Cuccurullo, TV Mania began in the mid-'90s as a set of songs revolving around a family hungry for reality show fame -- an idea several years ahead of its time.
The duo recorded the songs while their main band was on hiatus, incorporating samples of TV shows into their songs about religion, fashion, pharmaceuticals, and video games. When reality caught up to the duo's story, Cuccurullo and Rhodes put the songs aside, then revisited them in the 2010s, releasing them as Bored with Prozac and the Internet? in 2013 as a digital release and limited-edition vinyl box set. ~ Heather Phares
