    Otis Redding Celebrates ‪#‎BlackHistoryMonth‬: The Redding FamilyKarla, Dexter, and Otis Redding III uphold the legacy of their father through their work with The Otis Redding Foundation. Founded by their mother in 2007, the Macon based foundation aims to improve the community through education and empowerment of its youth. Each year, the foundation hosts the Big “O” Singer/Songwriter Camp where students get a chance to work alongside and interact with music industry professionals in various workshops, forums, and Q&A sessions.

Although founded in 1908 at Howard University, the sorority was not incorporated until these women helped further the growth of the sorority by expanding nationally in 1912. In late January of 1913, the Articles of Incorporation were signed, making Alpha Kappa Alpha the first national sorority for African American women. #BlackHistoryMonth
