The Morning Light formed from the ashes of Pittsburgh's Transition, with bassist Harrison Wargo opting to leave the latter group and create his own music alongside vocalist Bobby Garver.
The two began crafting piano-driven songs in the vein of Jack's Mannequin, and the duo soon swelled to a quintet with the addition of bassist Andrew McDonald, drummer Nick Baxter, and former Transition guitarist Matt Colussy. With both Wargo and Garver sharing vocal duties, the Morning Light spent 2007 on the road, playing nearly 150 concerts and signing with Fearless Records only nine months after their first show. The Sounds of Love EP introduced the band's mix of emo and alternative pop/rock in March 2008. ~ Andrew Leahey
