With an understated guitar/bass/drum sound indebted to the Northwest indie scene, the four members of Spokane, Washington’s the Globes moved to Seattle soon after graduating from high school to pursue their musical dreams, and started recording their self-titled EP in 2007.
The next year, the Globes finished recording their debut outing and played approximately 100 shows. By 2009 they had gotten in with producer John Goodmanson, whose credits included Blonde Redhead, Sleater-Kinney, and Death Cab for Cutie, and he recorded their next EP, Sinter Songs. Barsuk signed the band soon after, and the Globes released their first full-length, Future Self, in the spring of 2011. ~ Jason Lymangrover
