In the following few years, the band -- vocalist/guitarist Geoff O'Connor, bassist Brett Hudson, guitarist Chris Hung and drummer Neil Erenstrom -- supported the likes of the Unicorns, Dirty Three, Deerhoof and Architecture in Helsinki in concert. Although their gear was stolen (and later recovered) halfway through the recording process, the band managed to complete their debut album, Animal Bells, co-released by Chapter Music and Trifekta records in mid-2006. They began recording a second album in 2008, releasing a single, "Mirror Ball," partway through the process. A single, "Voice of Paradise," was released in the UK in 2009, leading the band to tour there and in Europe. Their second LP All the Pleasures in the World was issued by Chapter later that year to critical acclaim from publications and influential blogs. It also boosted their profile in their native country, ganing them access to stages at festivals like Golden Plains, Sandcastles and the Big Day Out. They also toured the US, playing SXSW and CMJ along the way. Their momentum stalled when O'Connor halted the band in 2011 to release his solo album, Vanity Is Forever. He stuck with his solo career, touring and putting out another record, the synth pop-influenced Fan Fiction, in 2013. After a six year break, Crayon Fields started up again, recording and releasing their thrid album, No One Deserves You, in late 2015. ~ Kenyon Hopkin
