Summer Fiction is the musical project of Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Bill Ricchini.
The Philadelphia native released a pair of critically acclaimed solo records for Sony's Transdreamer imprint in 2001 and 2005 before shifting his focus to the Summer Fiction project in 2010. Heavily influenced by the orchestrated sounds of the Beach Boys, the Left Banke, and other lush '60s pop groups, Ricchini recorded Summer Fiction's self-titled debut in bedrooms, studios, and basements around Philadelphia. Self-released in 2011, the 11-song album loosely follows the concept of a young girl's coming of age. The work was critically lauded and several songs received placements in film and television, most notably, ABC's hit series Revenge and the indie film Safety Not Guaranteed. Working with co-producer Brian Christinzio (BC Camplight), Ricchini returned in 2015 with Summer Fiction's sophomore LP Himalaya. Timothy Monger
