Based out of Los Angeles, CA, Sugarwall mix alt-rock sensibilities with a dose of country and R&B, and their live shows are fun, high-energy affairs.
The band, which features vocalist Ronnie Dee (the son of Joey Dee of Joey Dee & the Starliters, best known for the 1961 hit "Peppermint Twist"), guitarist Mitch Mills, bassist Rick Barrio Dill, and drummer Joey Lowe, formed (at least in its current configuration) in 2008 when the group's original lead singer left the band shortly after Barrio Dill joined. He suggested Dee (the two had known each other from the music scene in their native Tampa Bay) as a replacement, and the new unit clicked. Having released the self-titled album Sugarwall in 2008, the group rewrote, refined, and re-recorded some of the songs for 2009's Find a Way, which was produced and mixed by Barrio Dill. ~ Steve Leggett
