He is CEO of Spotted Elk Publishing ”LLC” and Spotted Elk Music Group ”LLC”. His musical style is a unique interpretation of rock, blues, jazz, electronic, and modern progressive. Kyle is an enrolled tribal member with the Northern Cheyenne tribe of Lame Deer, Montana. He is currently a student in St. Louis, MO at Extreme Institute by Nelly studying in the producing/engineering, recording (with management) program.

Kyle’s mission is to share with others the inspiration and spiritual healing music has brought to him throughout his life. He wants to raise awareness of current issues facing Native Americans and give back to these communities. Kyle is currently establishing non-for profit organizations that encourage the arts, community harmony, and sober healthy lifestyle for Native Americans.

The name Spotted Elk holds personal significance for Kyle. His Native American family name is Spotted Elk and his endeavors are in honor and memory of his biological mother Nella Mae Spotted Elk and his brother Todd Emigh both of whom where taken by drugs and alcohol. In addition, Kyle is part Oglala Lakota and pays tribute to Chief Spotted Elk who was violently murdered by the U.S. Army during a peaceful ceremony called The Ghost Dance. This occurred at Pine Ridge Reservation in 1890. In addition to Chief Spotted Elk, 150 other tribal members where murdered. This atrocity is known as The Wounded Knee Massacre. While Kyle’s biological mother (Nella Mae Spotted Elk) was still alive, he would often visit her at Pine Ridge. She lived with Kyle’s Uncle Charles Chips. Charles was a Medicine Man who’s father was Horn Chips. Kyle and his biological family are direct decedents of Chief Spotted Elk and Crazy Horse.

Kyle has been pursuing musical education, composition, and performance as a lifetime passion and has 30 years of musical performance and education in a variety of styles, teachers, and musical applications. He currently resides in St. Louis, MO through which he has further expanded his musical repertoire with his involvement in the rich soul and blues music scene. Through his enrollment at Extreme Institute by Nelly, he has become a student Grammy member, received multiple honors, and a certification in Pro Tools.
