Featuring vocalist Brad Dring and musicians Mike Aitofi and Josh Stein, New Zealand's Rapture Ruckus began as a straight CCM hip-hop crew but brought other genres into their music as their career grew.
Launched in 2002, the trio debuted at New Zealand's quite huge Parachute Festival, a successful gig that underscored the importance the group places on performing live. The Ruckus spent the next few years touring the globe, playing shows and worship services in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and elsewhere, earning themselves a loyal following in the process. They finally made their official debut in late 2006 with the album I Believe, winner of the 2007 New Zealand Music Award for Best Gospel Album. Captured at a returning gig at the Parachute Festival, the album Live at World's End followed in 2008, then the Hold On EP, featuring the hit single "Tonight," arrived in 2010. The 2011 album Open Your Eyes found them joining the BEC Recordings family, while the EPs Invader, Vol. 1 (2014) and Invader, Vol. 2 (2015) found them experimenting with genres like EDM and rock. ~ David Jeffries
