There are not many who would expect that two musicians who met while working on a Modest Mouse album would get together and start a project that elicited descriptors like ‘grindcore', ‘industrial metal', and ‘death metal', but Chicago, Illinois' Plague Bringer managed to beat the odds of uncertainty and make it happen.
Coming together in late 2002, Plague Bringer -- vocalist, guitarist, and programmer Greg Ratajczak and vocalist and lyricist Josh Rosenthal -- and their programmable drummer released their first album, As the Ghosts Collect, the Corpses Rest, in 2006. Eventually, the band's work and live show would earn them support slots with some of the genre's leading lights, including Brutal Truth, Pig Destroyer, Deicide, and the Red Chord. In 2008, Plague Bringer brought forth their next collection of aggression, Life Songs In a Land of Death, on Seventh Rule Records. ~ Chris True
