Party Fun Action Committee -- a rap duo, not a Japanese lobbyist dedicated to hedonism -- was formed by Blockhead and Jer to send up the wussier aspects of turn-of-the-millennium hip-hop, including rap-rock (Limp Bizkit), geek hop (MC Paul Barman), and assorted other easy targets (fratboys, Ja Rule, "intelligent" rappers).
The fact that at least one member had a hype-heavy resumé himself (Blockhead productions have appeared on Aesop Rock and S.A. Smash releases, and he's recorded for breakbeat haven Ninja Tune) did nothing to dull their surprisingly keen blade. Let's Get Serious, a concept record arranged around two industry hacks discussing a demo tape, was released on Def Jux in mid-2003. ~ John Bush
