Made another fishing doubleheader today for two in two days. Caught nothing at Manasquan Dog Beach this afternoon with 90 casts on the incoming tide. Didn’t see the other five fishermen catch anything there. Lots of Atlantic Brant were flying. Caught many weeds. Missed one hit on a Bomber and teaser rig. Probably won’t return until next week. Went ultralight jigging in Miry Run Lake Dam Site 21 this evening in the rain. Caught and released a 16.5” pickerel and 8.5” black crappie with 1/32 oz twister tail leadhead jigs on 2 lb test line. A pickerel bit off my lure, then escaped. Lost a small fish that looked like a white perch. Didn’t see the other eight fishermen catch anything. A few fish swirled. Two adult mute swans, Canada geese, great blue heron, crows, blackbirds and bugs were nearby. The dead deer is still next to the west side of the outlet.
