Her debut solo album "A Bowl ofChalk" was released on FBeat/Demon Records in 1993 attracting guest musicians Danny Thompson on bass (Kate Bush, DavidSylvian) & Neil Conti on drums (David Bowie, Prefab Sprout).

In '95 she joined forceswith Saul Freeman to form Mandalay and went on to release three albums on V2 Records – the first was "Empathy"(featuring the single "Beautiful) to critical acclaim co-produced with Guy Sigsworth (Bjork, Madonna, BebelGilberto) featuring drummer/percussionist Steve Jansen (Japan) and thebeautiful ethereal sounds of Jon Hassell on trumpet (Brian Eno, Harold Budd).

Followingthese albums a 2-disc compilation cd "Solace" was releasedexclusively in the US on V2 Records comprising selected songs from each and anadditional cd of remixes. Mandalaydisbanded in 2002.

Nicola's second solo album"Passive Aggressive" was released on her own label Tempted in 2005featuring self-produced and collaborative tracks. Collaborators include Hector Zazou, Ryuichi Sakamoto andChris Brann.
