In an effort to unite art and community and highlight kickass local acts, the Venice Music Crawl descended on Venice Beach, Calif., for a day of good cheer and great tunes. Armed with a new app that lets crawlers stay on track with venue locations and band info, the VMC is shaping up to be strong contender on the L.A. fest circuit. Emerging acts like Megafauna, The Bixby Knolls, Walla and Spaceships took the stage amidst a sea of bicycles, hula-hoopers and face painters – standard fare for Venice, and as day turned to night the scene just got hotter. (All photos by Lindsay Kent)
