Dallas-based choir director, vocal arranger, producer, and backup singer Myron Butler worked for Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, and Ted & Sheri before organizing his own vocal group, Levi, signing to the EMI Gospel label, and making his debut with their first album, Set Me Free (November 8, 2005), which peaked in the Top 20 of the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart and won four Stellar Awards.
Stronger (August 28, 2007), the group's second album, reached number two. Next came Revealed … Live in Dallas (March 30, 2010), featuring guest stars Franklin and Smokie Norful, which proved another Top Ten hit. ~ William Ruhlmann
