MADEIRA is the lush, hazy electropop project of Kim Pflaum, a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist who was also a founding member of Christchurch, New Zealand's Yumi Zouma.
After leaving the group in late 2014, Pflaum relocated to Auckland and wrote cathartic songs for her solo project. Opting for a sleeker sound than her former band's music on singles such as Let Me Down -- which was released by Ryan Hemsworth's Secret Songs label -- MADEIRA's debut EP, Bad Humors, arrived in September 2016 on Carpark Records. ~ Heather Phares
