Hailing from the East Bay, Limp was borne out of the same punk scene that brought about Rancid, Neurosis, Econochrist, and Fang. The similarities end there however, as Limp is neither crusty nor testosterone-driven, and Pop and Disorderly is hard evidence of that. The record was well received not only because of its highly infectious content but also because the band remained on the road for over a year in support of the album. Despite the hectic touring schedule, in 1998 Limp recorded a five-song EP for Less Than Jake’s label, Fueled By Ramen, titled Fine Girl. Recorded by Ryan Greene and mixed by Kevin Army (Green Day and Operation Ivy). Fine Girl exceeded everyone’s expectations. In fact, Fueled by Ramen has pressed the record over three times. It was at about this time that Limp was even being courted by the dudes from Blink 182 to jump ship and join them on MCA. No dice!

Limp released their sophomore LP for Honest Don’s in February of 1999. The album was titled Guitarded, why, we’re not sure, and was recorded over a course of seven months in 1998 between a slew of tours. What you do need to know is that Guitarded was a huge hit on college radio and got more airplay than any previous Don’s record. Their commercial and touring success made it clear that great things were happening for Limp!

That brings us to Limp’s third studio full length, which was recorded at Motor Studios with the illustrious Ryan Greene, who produced Pop and Disorderly and Guitarded. Greene is known for his work with other bands like NOFX, Cheap Trick, Nerf Herder, Ridel High, Swingin Utters, Fenix TX, and Lagwagon, and continues to be a part of Limp’s recipe for success.

The self-titled album is full of surprises and displays Limp’s ability to blend catchy pop-punk with dynamic rock. Producer guy Ryan had this to say about the record, “It’s crazy. There’s some insane vocal stuff going on here.” This most recent record proves that the third time is a charm as Limp has come forth with their most mature songs to date!

Full of hooks, harmonies, and heartfelt lyrics; this newest record is Limp at their best and their quirkiest. That’s right, the new vocal and guitar stylings of these pop-punk virtuosos are sure to raise eyebrows and turn heads. This band has done full tours with all the greats: MxPx, The Donnas, Less Than Jake, Lagwagon, Suicide Machines, Dance Hall Crashers, and Bouncing Souls to name a few. In addition to Limp’s rigorous touring schedule, the band played high-profile dates with Blink-182, The Offspring, Goldfinger, NOFX, Foo Fighters, The Specials, and Unwritten Law as well as performing on the Warped Tour and at CMJ.
