Chiseled from the same slab of impossibly thick stone as the Melvins, Earth, Skullflower, Boris, Harvey Milk, and early King Crimson, English doom metal outfit Like a Kind of Matador craft sludge-kissed ambient landscapes of sound that carry with them echoes of prog rock, art rock, and Krautrock.
The Leeds-based trio consists of guitarist Paul McShane, percussionist/keyboardist Daniel Skevington, and vocalist/accordionist and flute player Sarah McWatt. Like a Kind of Matador released their debut album, Halfway to Dangerous, on the tUMULt label in 2008. ~ James Christopher Monger
