Only 15 when he rapped on his first track, Roscoe was introduced to the rap industry by his brother, Dogg Pound MC and former Death Row associate Kurupt.
A native of Philadelphia, Roscoe was ten years old when he flew to California to watch his brother lay down tracks for tha Dogg Pound's debut record. Inspired by what he saw, he soon began to regularly hook up with Kurupt on the road and in the studio, soaking in the West Coast beats while practicing his rapping skills. Debuting on his brother's Tha Streetz Iz a Mutha, producer Daz was impressed by the young MC and helped him put together his first mix tape, 2001's When the Pain Inflict. Drawing favorable reviews from the underground circuit, Roscoe signed with Priority to release his proper debut record, Young Roscoe Philaphornia. With help from seasoned producers Soopafly and Organized Noize, the album was recorded and scheduled for release in 2002 but was pushed back for release until mid-2003. ~ Bradley Torreano
