In addition to be being a guitarist and singer/songwriter, Katrina Carlson is also an actress in television, movies, and off-Broadway plays.
Katrina appeared in husband/director Kenneth Carlson's 1999 movie Special Delivery, which also included Sean Young and Penny Marshall, and upon its completion, she was asked to supply music for the film's soundtrack. Inspired and happy with the results, Carlson went back into the studio and recorded her debut album, Apples for Eve, which was released in September 2001 and spawned the single "I Know You by Heart," recalling such acclaimed singer/songwriters as Shawn Colvin, Carly Simon, and Paula Cole. The same month her debut album was issued, a few of Carlson's tracks were featured in the high-school football documentary Go Tigers. Carlson returned in 2003 with her sophomore effort, the more polished if still rootsy Untucked. Here and Now followed in 2007, featuring a cover of the Howard Jones hit "No One Is to Blame." In 2011, Carlson moved away from original contemporary rock music for the American popular song album One Night Standards. ~ Greg Prato
