Composer/vocalist who appeared in the '90s and received attention, Jorge Vercilo has had songs recorded by Djavan ("Final Feliz"), Danilo Caymmi ("Encontro das Águas"), Patrícia Marx ("Novos Corações"), Chrystian & Ralf ("Sensível Demais"), Fábio Jr. ("Tudo Ilusão"), and the Cheiro de Amor band ("Fácil de Entender"), among others.
His songs were included in the soundtracks of major soap operas like Tropicaliente ("Praia Nua"), Mulheres de Areia ("Encontro das Águas"), and Indomada ("Infinito Amor"). Vercilo represented Brazil at the Caribbean World Festival of Curaçao in 1989 and 1990, winning it both times. His first CD was recorded in 1993, Encontro das Águas. Adopting a pop language on his second release, Em Tudo Que é Belo (1996), he was nominated for the Sharp Prize as the best pop singer. His third album, Leve (2000), had Djavan on "Final Feliz," which became a hit. ~ Alvaro Neder
