JDSY is the alias of electronic pop producer/vocalist Joseph Sims, who is affiliated with the Ghostly International and Moongadget labels and who made his full-length album debut in 2008.
Born in Ann Arbor, MI, in 1982, Sims made his recording debut in 2005 on Ghostly International with a remix of "For You" on the Solvent remix album Elevators and Oscillators, an opportunity that came about after he sent a demo of his production work to the label, also based in Ann Arbor. This initial opportunity proved impressive, and the label subsequently showcased his song "Me See" on the various-artists EP New Faces (2006). In 2008 the Moongadet label released Sims' EP debut, Understander, while Ghostly International released his full-length album follow-up, Adage of Known, a couple months later. ~ Jason Birchmeier
