Harri Kakoulli has been involved in writing, producing & mixing worldmusic since the mid-eighties. He's worked as an artist writing & producinghis own work, building a formidable reputation as one of the world's leadingproducers of world music and gathering great reviews over the years.

He's recorded collaborations with many musicians and top world music artists- produced, mixed & recorded tracks, and worked with artists such as MaxiPriest, Jocelyn Brown, King Sunny Ade, Natasha Atlas, Talvin Singh, Jah Wobble,Aki Nawaz (Fundamental), Joana Lewie, Ukrainians, Joi, The Wedding Present, OliverCheatham, Andy Weatharal, Tall Paul, Youth, Imagination, The Only Ones,Squeeze, The Late Malcolm McLaren, The Late Smiley Culture, The late FreddieMackey, Carl Douglas, Sandra Cross, Eric Donaldson, Asher Senator, and manyothers.

Harri produced, created & mixed the first two compilation albums Fuse 1and Fuse 2 and recorded tracks as an artist & a producer for legendaryworld music label Nation Records. You would never guess that Harri Kakoulli got his start as the bass playerfor Squeeze. Instead, you might guess that he was a roadie for African HeadCharge on their Finnish tour, or that he'd spent his early years sitting inwith the Bombay Dub Orchestra. Harri Kakoulli’s music brings together a broadspectrum of musical traditions -- sacred choral music, keening solo plainchants, Middle Eastern percussion, African rhythms, house, and Electronica --and blends them into something that sounds both ancient and completely new. Hetakes relentless (but not overaggressive) percussion of the type one might hearon a Muslimgauze album, and pairs it with the kind of modal vocals one mighthear from Dead Can Dance. A fusing of polyphonic choral singing with quietEastern percussion to absolutely gorgeous effect; throughout there’s somethingjust slightly creepy tugging at the underside of Harri kakoulli’s beautiful music, and the effect is really quite stunning.

What can I say? Absolutely beautiful. Harri's music paints pictures,

mostly landscapes, as if I'm travelling through the wilderness,

through nature, even outer space sometimes! Some tracks have a

medieval feel to them, as if an ancient ritual is being performed.
