Grubson is a Polish rapper and producer named Tomasz Iwańca who has been active since the late '90s.
Born in Rybnik in 1986, Iwańca's older brother turned him on to hip-hop in the early '90s, and he began producing tracks at home on his computer, and formed several short-lived hardcore hip-hop groups. Grubson's unofficial first release, N.O.C., appeared in 2003, and found the rapper adding a heavy dancehall reggae influence to his sound. Grubson formed hip-hop duo 2G with MC ZyebOneKilla, and joined dancehall reggae group Wspolny Mianownik Sound System. Grubson spent several years working behind the scenes, producing tracks for other artists, guesting on tracks by numerous acts including EastWest Rockers, DonGuralEsko, and Junior Stress, and releasing mixtapes and remixes. His official debut album, O.R.S., arrived on Max Flo Records in 2009. The album was successful, hitting the Top 40 of the Polish album charts and eventually going gold, but its follow-up, Coś Więcej Niż Muzyka, was an even bigger success, hitting number two and being certified platinum. Gruby Brzuch, Grubson's 2012 album in collaboration with DJ BRK, hit number one on the charts and was certified gold. Grubson's solo album Holizm was released in 2015. ~ Paul Simpson
