Taking his stage name from what he thought his great-great-grandfather's was called (actually, it was Granville Fisher Littleton), Gran Bel Fisher moved from his hometown of Sabina, OH to Cincinnati as a teenager to attend the performing arts school there.
Eventually, he ended up in Los Angeles, where he meant producer Dave Bassett at a party. The two clicked almost instantly musically, and within days had recorded demos of some of Fisher's songs. After playing one showcase at the Viper Room, the young musician signed to Hollywood Records in 2005, and his debut album, Full Moon Cigarette, was released the next year. ~ Marisa Brown
