Growing up with her family which includes her mom from Tennessee and her father who is from New York, she had a variety of musical influences from U2, Depeche Mode, the Pet Shop Boys and Sting to the legendary Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Her original track "Free for the Moment" that she wrote at the young age of 12 was placed by Union Square Media & DirecTV in their Gone Until December series on women surfers. In 2011, SOPHI was selected by Music World Entertainment (run by Beyonce' & her father Matthew Knowles) for their Kids Jamz Pop CD and was also chosen the same year as one of the International Songwriting Competition’s “Crank Your Cred” Finalists for her song "Boy in the Hallway". SOPHI's a natural in front of a camera and on the stage. While her passion is singing, she also loves to write songs, write fiction, illustrate, and dance.
