His tracks blend melancholic atmospheres with brisk, galloping beats, and often feature echoing vocal samples or guest singers. Cornwell grew up listening to punk and hardcore before becoming entranced by garage and dubstep, citing Zed Bias and MJ Cole as influences. He began creating electronic music as GhostChant in 2011, releasing a three-track EP called Late Night Talks in 2012. His tracks found their way to BBE Records, who signed him in 2013. He released the "Laid to Rest" single in 2013 and began working on his debut album, Sincerity, originally scheduling it for release in 2014. The album was delayed, but a few singles emerged in early 2015. Sincerity was finally given a digital release in September of 2015. ~ Paul Simpson
