Mexican Latin rock foursome Genitallica was formed after a comic project called Genitalandia created in 1997 by friends Andrés, Beno, Gildardo, Antulio, and Gallo.
A year later, these five young artists started composing music inspired by their own comics. Genitallica was born. The group recorded a demo in November of 1998 followed by live performances, soon, having the opportunity to sign up to Sony Music. They moved to Seattle to work with producer Barret Jones, making Genitallica's debut album ¿Picas o Platicas?, released in 2001, including a comic book designed by Mexican Mario Videgaray and Sergio Moreno, in addition, recording "Mi Mariguana" and "¿Qué Fue Lo Que Paso?," featured in the Altavista movie Por La Libre. ~ Drago Bonacich
