Friday Bridge are a Swedish indie pop duo whose elegant, synth and harpsichord-laden tunes, heavily influenced by acts like Kate Bush and Altered Images, nod to likeminded Scandinavians the Radio Dept.
, the Sound of Arrows, and Firefox AK. Yiva Lindberg and Niklas Gustafsson formed Friday Bridge in 2004, naming the project after a small village in Cambridgeshire, England. Their first EP, a cassette-only release titled The Lady Julie, was released on Best Kept Secret that same year; another EP, Friday Bridge 2, came out on Bedroom in the fall of 2005. A handful of split 7" singles and compilation disc appearances followed in the next two years, including an appearance on Friendly Noise's Are You Scared to Get Happy? and a split single with Kelly Slusher (2006's The End of the Affair/Be There). Friday Bridge were picked up by But Is It Art? for their debut full-length, Intricacy, which was released in 2007. The duo's sophomore album, Bite My Tongue, followed in 2009. ~ Margaret Reges
