When his father was sent into exile by Guatemalan government, Fratta's family moved to Mexico where they settled down in 1971. At a very young age, Fratta took piano and guitar lessons, being supported by his mother all the time. At the age of 15, the young musician got his first electric guitar. Fratta's first band was called Artefacto, breaking it up when its members decided to concentrate their abilities in their university studies. During the following years, Fratta participated in bands such as Ninot and Casino by playing keyboards. In 1994, BMG's associate label Culebra signed him up, releasing Romantico Desliz. In 1998, the independent label Intolerancia released Realidad. ~ Drago Bonacich
