A gifted guitarist and life-long lover of music, Duvall attempted to start bands with friends for a time, ultimately opting to just make music on his own. Early acoustic recordings influenced by the Beatles or the Kinks gave way to more electronic influences when Duvall began working with samplers and synthesizers. Following this progression, he developed what became Onuinu, a bright and bubbling combination of Prince-inflected pop melodies and summery electronic beats he sometimes referred to as "Disco-Hop." In 2010, Onuinu began surfacing in the form of isolated tracks online and the occasional show in the Portland area, and national tours followed. Debut full-length Mirror Gazer arrived in 2012 with co-production, mixing, and some drum assistance from Dandy Warhols and the Gossip producer Jeremy Sherrer. ~ Fred Thomas
