A veteran mixtape DJ affiliated with Rick Ross' Maybach Music team, Atlanta's DJ Scream launched his own solo career in 2014 with the posse cut "Always." It was the movie Juice that influenced a 12-year-old Scream to save up money for a set of turntables.
By the time he hit Tuskegee University, Scream was hosting parties, releasing his own mixtapes, and landing mixshow appearances on Atlanta's influential Hot 107.9 FM. His mixtapes hit on a national level, including both his popular street series (Heavy in the Streets) and "pillow talk R&B" series series (So Seductive), while his Hoodrich Radio series soon became the name of his business/brand. The Game, Plies, OutKast, and many others commissioned Scream to curate their own mixtapes, while tours DJing for Plies, D4L, and more would take away from his XM Satellite Radio show. In 2013 Rick Ross asked Scream to join his Maybach Music Group. A year later, the DJ got extra busy with his biweekly mixtape series ScreamList, while his own single "Always" -- featuring Waka Flocka Flame, Que, and Gunplay -- landed on Maybach Music. ~ David Jeffries
