A hugely successful dance producer and A&R scout, Alex Gaudino is responsible for some of the biggest Italo-house hits of the '90s.
Born Alessandro Fortunato Gaudino in Salerno, Italy, his fascination with the late-'80s house music scene inspired him to take up DJing at the age of 13. After working as an A&R scout for Flying Records and, later, Time Records, he founded his own label, Rise, which released U.K. number one hits from the Tamperer and Black Legend. Following remixes for Mousse T, Carl Cox, and Pete Tong, Gaudino teamed up with Crystal Waters for his first single, "Destination Unknown" (number four), and later scored Top 20 hits with "Watch Out" (number 16), "I'm in Love" (number ten), and, as one third of Lil' Love, "Little Love" (number 33). Gaudino also has a residency at one of Ibiza's most famous clubs, Eden, and in 2009 he launched a new record label, Magnificent, with fellow DJ Jason Rooney. ~ Jon O'Brien
