Daye Jack is a singer, rapper, and songwriter with an amiable and slightly askew approach to mixing pop, rap, and R&B.
Born in Nigeria and raised in suburban Atlanta, he sang in choir as a youngster and came up listening to Eminem, 50 Cent, and fellow Georgians OutKast. After he moved to New York to study computer science at NYU, he was prompted to take music seriously and made his debut in 2014 with Hello World, a meticulously recorded mixtape that took almost five years to complete. Signed to major-label Warner Bros., he released an EP, Soul Glitch, the following year. Its mournful "Hands Up," a single featuring Big Boi, registered on Billboard's Twitter Emerging Artists chart. In 2016, he appeared on Tori Kelly's "Expensive" and released the seven-track Surf the Web -- a prelude to his first proper album, No Data. Among the EP's highlights was the sharp, Neptunes-inspired "Finish Line." ~ Andy Kellman
