Originally the duo of Poile and Morris, the pair used this compact lineup to craft a driving yet hazy sound on early singles like 2011's Close-Ups/Sun Dogs and 2012's Grim. Befitting their love of scary movies, Crushed Beaks were invited by composer Fabio Frizzi (who wrote the music for Lucio Fulci's City of the Living Dead and The Beyond) to record their full-length debut in his Rome studio. Bowley joined the band in time to work on the album; called Scatter, it arrived in February 2015. ~ Heather Phares
