Swedish thrash metal also-rans Comecon are now mostly remembered for giving future Entombed singer L-G Petrov his start.
Also featuring guitarist Pelle Ström, bassist Rasmus Ekman and drummer Andre Green, the band's 1991 debut for Century Media, Megatrends in Brutality pretty much spent any reserves of originality in its title. At least Petrov seemed to think so, quitting the group soon after its release and making way for new vocalist Martin Van Drunen's arrival before 1993's similarly unsuccessful Converging Conspiracies. Yet another front man -- this time Marc Grewe on lease from Morgoth -- would be left holding the microphone come 1995's Fable Frolic swansong, which, perhaps most notably, featured a song called "Soft Creamy Lather" as its first track -- not a good sign for metallic world domination. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
