A favorite on the Detroit teen club scene of the mid-1960s, Clockwork Orange comprised singer/bassist Dann Florek, keyboardist Chuck Vreeland and drummer Rob Nulvaney.
Originally dubbed the Downriver Soul Project, the trio formed circa 1966 in the suburban Flat Rock area, its members all still in high school; a cover band noted primarily for its convincing renditions of current British Invasion and R&B hits, Clockwork Orange released no known material during a brief career which ended around 1968, although demo tapes are rumored to exist. An interesting footnote to the Detroit rock history of the era, Florek later went on to become a noted television character actor, with recurring roles on series including L.A. Law and Law & Order. ~ Jason Ankeny
