A native of Tigard, Oregon, singer/songwriter Christian Burghardt showed musical promise from a young age singing karaoke at family functions and eventually learning the guitar in his early teens.
While studying pre-med and playing football for Oregon State University, he was injured during a game and, while recovering in his dorm room, began to write and record songs. With his soulful voice and easy acoustic pop style, Burghardt continued to write songs and perform around the Portland area. While recovering from a second football injury, he was contacted by producer Camus Celli, who invited him down to Los Angeles to showcase for songwriter/producer Dr. Luke and his RCA-owned Kemosabe imprint. He released his debut EP, Safe Place to Land, in 2014 and hit the road supporting Gavin DeGraw and Matt Nathanson. A duet single with Cady Groves called "Whiskey and Wine" followed in early 2015. ~ Timothy Monger
