Lifelong friends, the musicians met in a church nursery and started playing music together as kids. They gained notice in 2012 with a series of remixes for fellow Christian artists tobyMac (including "ShowStopper" and "Me Without You"), Britt Nicole ("Amazing Life"), Mandisa ("Good Morning"), and Group 1 Crew ("His Kind of Love"). By the end of that year, they released an EP, I Feel So Alive, and also made two contributions to the Gotee label's Christmas compilation 'Tis the Season to Be Gotee Too. Their self-titled debut album followed in January 2013 and entered Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart at number five. In 2015, Capital Kings returned with their sophomore album, II, which featured appearances from singer Chris Tomlin, as well as rappers KB and tobyMac. ~ Andy Kellman
